Heqet Therapeutics is a preclinical-stage biotechnology company developing non-coding RNA-based therapies for cardiovascular disease, with a particular focus on acute myocardial infarction.

Originating from pioneering research by Professor Mauro Giacca, the company’s approach centres on selected microRNAs formulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for localised myocardial delivery, designed to induce cardiomyocyte proliferation and drive functional myocardial repair by upregulating multiple regenerative pathways.

Heqet is exploring its microRNA-LNP candidates as a treatment for ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), with the ambition of becoming the standard of care for regeneration-based treatment following myocardial infarction.
